<p>Embodiments of the invention include methods and compositions for the inhibition of Aldose Reductase by nitric oxide. Certain embodiments of the invention include the induction of nitric oxide by administration of a nitric oxide donor, nitric oxide precursor,inhibitor of a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, and/or an activator of nitric oxide synthase. Methods may include the treatment of various disease states by inhibiting Aldose Reductase.</p> |
