A SHAPE MEMORY CERAMIC AND A PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

The present invention is related to a shape memory ceramic and a producing method thereof. The shape memory ceramic includes 7-10mol% CeO2, 0.2-0.8mo1% Y2O3, and the rest of ZrO2. The method includes: preparing super fines of raw materials by use of coprecipitation; sintering them in air at 1500±20 °C for 4-6 hours; then cooling them, obtaining a tetragonal zirconia polycrystal ceramic with an average grain size of 0.9-1 .1 µm and a density of 5.9-6.1 g/cm<3>. When the shape memory ceramic of the present invention has a reversible strain of 1.2%, it has a shape recovery rate of 95-100%, maintains a high operating temperature and has a pseudo recovery elasticity of 3-4%.
