The viewing device has an imaging system with lenses for imaging an image of a viewed object onto a detector (5), contained within an apparatus housing (1) coupled to a rotary drive (2), with a counter-movement device (8) compensating the blurring of the image resulting from the rotary movement, by providing a synchronized movement in the opposite direction during the imaging time. The counter-movement device is arranged in a convergent beam path of the lens system and has a pivot axis (9) parallel to the rotation axis (2a) of the rotary drive.
