PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To profitably utilize information from a character screen. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle navigator which displays landmarks on a map at the periphery of a path together with its vehicle position through a path search is equipped with a map screen control part 2A which controls a map screen for displaying its vehicle position and landmarks on the map and a character screen control part 2B which displays intersections in the landmarks and their travel directions on a character screen with characters and deletes the displayed intersections and travel directions after its vehicle passes. |
