A breech loading firearm comprises a breech and a barrel having a bore, the forward end of the breech which contains the projectile having a diameter larger than the diameter of the bore of the barrel. The firearm is used for firing practice ammunition which comprises a projectile made from a thermoplastic plastics material the calibre of the projectile being greater than the diameter of the bore of the barrel. The small bore barrel may be interchangeable with a barrel having a calibre corresponding to the projectile containing part of the breech such that live ammunition can be fired from the firearm. |
