A process for producing an epoxide, characterized by comprising reacting an olefin with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a tungsten oxide, the tungsten oxide obtained through reaction of at least one ammonium salt selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium phosphates, quaternary ammonium hydrogen phosphates and quaternary ammonium dihydrogen phosphates, a tungsten compound and hydrogen peroxide.
