<p>The invention relates to a machine for applying a protective strip to the seam of a boot. The fully automatically-actuated machine comprises a moveable arm. According to the invention, the boot is mounted on the outermost portion of the aforementioned arm and is held thereon in the work position by means of a support member consisting of an element which is actuated at both ends by pneumatic cylinders. The inventive machine comprises: sheaves which are driven by pneumatic cylinders and which are used to press and apply the protective strip; an infrared light emitter/receiver device which is used to detect the start of the boot for the automatic application of the strip, and a reflector surface which is built into one side of the arm and which is used to support the boot.</p> |
