PURPOSE: A TFT array substrate for a liquid crystal display device is provided to sufficiently overlap edges of pixel electrodes resulting in the broken arrangement of liquid crystal molecules with gate lines and data lines for blocking the light leakage toward gate and data lines, thereby preventing the generation of disclination areas. CONSTITUTION: A TFT array substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes pixel electrodes(190) electrically connected to data lines(171) intersecting gate lines(121) for defining pixel areas. The pixel electrodes are overlapped with the gate and data lines at edge parts. In the rubbing beginning direction of each unit pixel area, width of the edge parts of the pixel electrodes in the overlapping with the gate and data lines are wider than the any other width of the edge parts overlapping the gate and data lines.
