PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting impurities in magnetic noncontact manner are provided to detect a size and a position of the impurities by measuring a variation of magnetic flux density according to magnetic permeability. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic noncontact type impurity detecting apparatus includes a coil(10), a magnetic sensor(20), a database(30), a controller(40) and a display device(50). The coil(10) receives current from a power source so as to form a magnetic field around an object. The magnetic sensor(20) measures density of magnetic flux of the object. The magnetic sensor(20) includes a HALL sensor. The database(30) stores data regarding to a variation of density of magnetic flux, which is varied depending on impurities. The controller(40) includes a ROM, a RAM, and a microprocessor. The display device(50) includes a liquid crystal display or a cathode ray tube.
