PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a fabricating method thereof are provided to obtain the high resolution and control easily the thickness of a dielectric layer by forming simultaneously a black matrix and an optical shielding layer on an entire surface or a back side of an upper substrate. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes an upper substrate(110), a plurality of transparent electrodes(112Y,112Z), a plurality of metal electrodes(114Y,114Z), a dielectric layer(115), a black matrix(124), and a plurality of optical shielding layers(113Y,113Z). The transparent electrodes(112Y,112Z) are formed in parallel to the upper substrate(110). The metal electrodes(114Y,114Z) are formed on the transparent electrodes(112Y,112Z). The dielectric layer(115) is formed on the transparent electrodes(112Y,112Z) and the metal electrodes(114Y,114Z). The black matrix(124) is formed on the upper substrate(110). The optical shielding layers(113Y,113Z) are formed on the same plane as the black matrix(124). |
