The burner (1) has a cover plate (1c) at the top. There is a ring of nozzles facing outward (1b) below the cover plate and a baseplate (1a) supporting the nozzle assembly. The baseplate has a flange (1d) which overlaps the edge of an aperture (3) in a glass-ceramic cooker top plate (4). A groove (9) in the flange accommodates a sealing ring (10) which presses on the cooker top plate.
