[Also in Division C2] The invention comprises water-soluble 2,4,6- triamino-pyrimidine-5-azo dyes which contain at least one salt-forming water-solubilizing group and at least three rings which are not fused with one another and of which at least two are of an aromatic character. The dyes are prepared by coupling diazo or tetrazo compounds with 2,4,6-triamino-pyrimidines (see Division C2) and if the product contains a diazotizable amino group optionally diazotizing the aminoazo-pyrimidine dye and coupling with any desired component. The dyes may also contain reactive groups. The preparation of mono-, dis-, tris- and tetrakisazo dyes is described. |
