The tool holder for the cutting insert as in the main patent has a shank which is fastened directly on the cutting tool slide by an arm at right angles to the tool shank. This arm is clamped against the slide end face and the shank is held in position by keys and bolts. This arrangement is used for compensating the wear between the most heavily loaded position which is the contact face between the slide end face and the arm contact face. This compensation is readily carried out and the cutter is also readily replaced. Between the arm (6) and the extension block (17) on the slide (1) end face is arranged an adjustable wedge (18). This wedge is raised by the actuating screw (22) and the inclined face (20) of the extension block. |
