<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare-earth-based ferromagnetic powder having a particle diameter close to a single magnetic domain and a high magnetic performance, by optimizing the particle diameter of a transition metal used as a raw material. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an alloy powder comprising rare earth elements and at least one transition metal selected from Fe, Co and Ni, includes a step of making at least one cation of the rare earth elements and at least one cation selected from the group consisting of Fe, Ni and Co, react with such a material as to form insoluble salts after having reacted with the cations, in a solution, to form precipitates, a step of burning the precipitates to obtain the metallic oxides, and a step for heating the metallic oxides in a reducing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
