PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system of an internal combustion engine reducing vibration and noise in a vehicle compartment by reducing the vibration of an accelerator cable. SOLUTION: A throttle body 4 is connected to a surge tank 3 of an intake manifold disposed in an engine inside an engine room and the accelerator cable 7 is supported by a linear fitting 11 and extended, with the inlet side of the throttle body 4 directed to the front of the vehicle body. A channel 12 having a concave cross section is formed in the outer surface of an air cleaner 2 along the direction of extension of the accelerator cable 7, the air cleaner 2 being located upstream of the throttle body 4 and crossing the accelerator cable 7. The channel 12 is curved at the exit side of the accelerator cable 7 and the accelerator cable 7 covered with a damping material 13 is inserted in the channel 12 and retained. Such a simple structure reduces costs and enables the accelerator cable 7 to be easily bent backwards into a U-shape and linked to an accelerator pedal to reduce vibration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
