PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which does not cause seal puncture and gap failure and has high seal reliability in the liquid crystal display device using the drop filling process. SOLUTION: An ultraviolet curing sealant 7 is applied to the peripheral part on a color filter substrate 4 by using a dispenser. At this time, the starting edge part 7a of the seal material 7 is located on the corner part 4e of the color filter substrate 4 and a closed loop 7c is formed in such a manner that the terminal edge part 7b intersects the starting edge part 7a by applying the seal material 7 along the periphery of the display part. The intersection part 10 is located on the corner part 4e formed between two edges 4a, 4b oppositely arranged to two edges 4c, 4d where pins for liquid crystal drive are located, thereby, the sealant 7 is prevented from sticking to the pins for liquid crystal drive and a liquid crystal display panel having high quality and reliability can be obtained. The discharge quantity of the sealant 7 by the use of a dispenser is made constant from the starting edge part 7a to the ending edge part 7b, thereby, the setting of the dispenser can be easily performed and the workability is enhanced.
