PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of a packaging apparatus that is provided with two band reel units. SOLUTION: Two band reel units 12 (12-U, 12-L) are placed in parallel spaced at an interval upward and downward of the same side face 14a of the body of the packaging apparatus. A band guide roller 50 that becomes the band let-in mouth of an automatic band-switching device 18 is disposed so that its rotating axial line is extended in the direction horizontal to the side face 14a of the body of the apparatus, and band angles aligning means 54-U, 54-L respectively corresponding to the two upward and downward band reel units 12 (12-U, 12-L) are respectively disposed between the two upward and downward band reel units in a manner that enables the piercing through of bands 16 (16-U, 16-L) from the respective band reel units. The bands 16 (16-U, 16-L) from the two upward and downward band reel units are twisted at about 90 degrees and thereafter are pierced respectively from guide holes 56 through to the band angles aligning means 54-U, 54-L, thus the bands whose positions and orientations are aligned by the band angles aligning means can be pierced through the band guide rollers 50 and wound up without giving them a further twist thereafter.
