<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the heat efficiency is improved by controlling the contact/separation of a metal roller with/from a fixing member while judging the temperature increases of ends, the number of printed sheets, etc., in the case where transfer materials of sizes equal to or smaller than a specific size are processed on a fixing member with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device is characterized by bringing the temperature uniformizing member into contact with the fixing member by actuating a driving means for the temperature uniformizing member in the case where a control means judges that the size in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the transport of the transfer material used is equal to or smaller than a specific size and the number of prints produced according an image formation command has become a predetermined number or greater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
