PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can improve the so-called fast printing performance by shortening a standby time for starting recording while stable high-speed recording and recording quality are realized, a control method for a recorder, a control program, and a computer readable storage medium with the control program stored. SOLUTION: A movement of a recording head and a paper supply process for recording papers are overlapped with each other in terms of time, so that a medium to be stored is carried into a position opposite to the recording head (recordable position) at nearly the same timing as a timing when a preparatory operation of the recording head is finished.
