PHOTOCATALYST STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst structure further enhanced in decomposability in a photocatalyst structure wherein a photocatalyst is supported on an ultraviolet transmitting carrier.

SOLUTION: In the photocatalyst structure comprising the ultraviolet transmitting carrier and the photocatalyst, the photocatalyst has a shape of a coating film-like article and a fine granular material. This photocatalyst structure is formed by coating a silica sand surface with a raw material solution wherein photocatalyst component particles are dispersed in a gel solution used in coating and forming a photocatalyst component by a sol-gel method and heating the coated surface to an annealing temperature to support the photocatalyst component fine particles on the silica sand surface.
