PURPOSE: A gear oil composition for a manual transmission gear of an automobile is provided, to improve the durability and the low temperature transmission performance. CONSTITUTION: The gear oil composition comprises 50-95 wt% of a gear oil; 0.05-4 wt% of an extreme pressure agent; 0.05-5 wt% of an anti-abrasion agent; 0.05-5 wt% of a metal-based detergent-dispersant; 0.05-5 wt% of a friction modifier; and 0.05-20 wt% of other additive containing a viscosity index improver. Preferably the gear oil is a fixing agent mineral oil or synthetic oil having a kinematic viscosity of 3-10 cSt at 100 deg.C and a viscosity index of 100 or more; the extreme pressure agent is a dialkyldithiophosphate ester represented by the formula 1, wherein R1 and R2 are an alkyl or aryl group of C5-C20; and the anti-abrasion agent is a primary, secondary or tertiary zinc dithiophosphate represented by the formula 2, an alkyl ester or their mixture, wherein R is an alkyl or aryl group of C5-C20.
