PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor for hard disk which can easily perform a process till fixing a hard disk. SOLUTION: The spindle motor includes: a motor hub 1 with a disk receiver 1b formed therein; and a disk clamp member 3 for holding the inner peripheral edge of the hard disk 2 with the disk receiver 1b. The disk clamp member 3 made of an elastic material is formed into a funnel shape with an outer peripheral edge abutting on the hard disk. The motor hub 1 includes: a projected holding part 1c on which the center hole 3a of the disk clamp member 3 is fitted; and a retaining part 1d which is formed to be projected outward in the radial direction from the end of the holding part 1c, and prevents the coming-off of the disk clamp member 3 on which the holding part 1c is fitted and which is pressurized in the axial direction to be arranged in an elastically deformed state. It is not necessary to prepare a fastening member such as a screw, or the processes to perform tapping/assembling for screwing. Thus, the process till the hard disk 2 is fixed is easily and inexpensively implemented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
