PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack to extend the lifetime of a pinion to be engaged. SOLUTION: In the rack, divided portions 1a, 1b and 1c are displaced in the thickness direction and steps are formed in the direction of moving in teeth formed in the portions 1a, 1b and 1c.
