METHOD FOR FORMING ORGANIC LAYER, AND GAS-BARRIER PLASTIC FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a colorless transparent organic layer using inexpensive equipment and to provide a transparent film which exhibits gas-barrier performances superior to those of conventional ones and does not undergo deterioration in the gas-barrier performances even when bent. SOLUTION: The method for forming the organic layer comprises vapor- depositing on a substrate a mixture which comprises a photopolymerizable monomer and a photopolymerization initiator differing by at most 30°C in their 5% weight loss temperatures as measured by the thermogravimetric analysis, and causing UV crosslinking. The gas-barrier plastic film comprises at least one organic layer formed by the above method and at least one inorganic layer, which are alternately laminated on at least one surface of a base material composed of a polymeric material.
