[Also in Division Dl] Underwater slopes and bottoms are revetted by a layer of asphaltic composition reinforced by mats of woven strips external to and on only one side of the layer. The strips may be of aluminium or plastics such as polypropylene polyamides or polyacetals or may each comprise woven glass fibre tapes. The layer may either be formed in situ, or built up from pre-fabricated flexible sections. When aluminium strips are used these may be coated with a corrosion inhibitor such as asphaltic bitumen. |
