PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining condition determining method for reducing a machining residual, and allowing smooth machining. SOLUTION: Machinings are performed at intervals mutually noninterfering in the machinings at respective points, and an optimal condition is determined in each machining stage on condition that the machining is performed by dislocating an initial machining position by one pitch. An average value of this machining parameter is determined, and when an evaluation function satisfies a regulation as a result of performing the machining by the average value, the sum of the machining parameter till then is set as a determined machining parameter. When the evaluation function does not satisfy the regulation, a calculation is newly performed with the machining residue as a new target machining quantity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
