PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take out a large amount of content without spilling the content when the content is discharged from the discharge port of a treatment tank. SOLUTION: This garbage treatment tank is provided in an apparatus body and a stirring mechanism driven by a drive motor is provided in the treatment tank. A discharge port is provided to the lower part of the treatment tank and a shutter member for opening and closing the discharge port is detachably provided to the treatment tank. A receiving box arranged under the discharge port to receive the content is provided in the apparatus body and a take-out port is provided to the apparatus body while a take-out port cover for opening and closing the take-out port is detachably provided to the apparatus body. In a garbage treatment apparatus thus constituted, the receiving box is constituted of an outer box part the upper part and one side surface part of which are opened and an inner box part, the upper part and one side surface part of which are opened and housed in the outer box part so as to be drawn out. A joining mechanism for joining the outer and inner box parts is provided so as to unite an outer box side housing space of the outer box part and an inner box side housing space of the inner box part taken out of the outer box part.
