RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus capable of reproducing a moving picture file from the interrupted part of the moving picture file at succeeding reproduction even when a battery of an recording and reproducing apparatus runs out resulting in interrupting power of the apparatus or a user optionally interrupts the reproduction of the moving picture file.

SOLUTION: When a user optionally gives a stop instruction to interrupt reproduction of a moving picture file recorded on a memory card 1, the recording and reproducing apparatus can write the time code at that time point in to the memory card 1 and read this time code at succeeding reproduction. Hence time and effort on program searching can be saved because reproduction is started at the stopped position at the succeeding reproduction even when the user optionally stops the reproduction on the way of the reproduction of the moving picture file.
