PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for paintings and calligraphy with high mechanical strength and high reliability having more excellent operability than that of a conventional camera, a simple configuration capable of integrally stiff form in a contained state. SOLUTION: In the camera for paintings and calligraphy including: an original platen; an imaging means for imaging an original supported by the original platen; a sole reflection means placed on an optical path for the original platen and the imaging means; and a movable support means for freely turnably engaging with the original platen and freely turnably supporting the imaging means and the reflecting means, the movable support means has at least one recessed part.
