A dosing device (2) for controlled dosing of a first gas into a second gas, or liquid, is described. The dosing device (2) comprises a membrane (18) which is permeable to the first gas and which separates the first gas from the second gas/liquid. Dosing of the first gas is performed by controlling diffusion. In one embodiment, the size of the active diffusion area is regulated. Here, a barrier means (16) is movingly arranged, in relation to the membrane (18). When the barrier means (16) is moved in relation to the membrane (18), a larger or smaller part of the membrane's (18) diffusion area can be exposed to the second gas/liquid.
