PURPOSE: A device for selecting colored rice grains is provided to select the colored grains, impurities, and unripe grains at a time and to reduce production costs by using cheap near infrared LEDs, silicon optical sensors, and optical filters. CONSTITUTION: A device for selecting colored rice grains is composed of near infrared LEDs(25,25') installed at a predetermined position, a near infrared ray impermeable filter(24-1) preventing the interference of near infrared ray generated by the near infrared LEDs when a silicon optical sensor selects colored grains and selecting the colored grains by visible rays, and a near infrared ray permeable filter(24-2). The near infrared ray permeable filter selects the colored grains, impurities, and unripe grains.
