<p>A bar code reading device for applying a scanning laser beam to a bar code symbol and reading information described. A laser beam scan unit includes a movable support member, a support member fixed to a device main body, and an elastic metal member connecting them which are insert-molded into a unitary block. The support members and a scan mirror are formed into a unitary block and a permanent magnet is attached to the support members. A drive coil is provided in the vicinity of the permanent magnet so as to generate an attractive force or a repulsive force and is rotated by a cyclic laser beam scan angle. Furthermore, a stopper mechanism is provided to mitigate shock from outside with respect to the rotation operation of the scan mirror.</p> |
