PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the degree pollution in floor materials which enables even an inexperienced person, who is not engaged in cleaning work, to simply, easily, and objectively perform evaluation and determination at a site at which the floor materials are constructed. SOLUTION: One, two, or more transparent plates P1-P3 having the same or different predetermined permeabilities are overlaid on the surface of a floor material F1 having no stains. The appearance of the surface of the floor material having no stains viewed through the one, two, or more transparent plates is visually compared with the appearance of the surface of a floor material F2 of which stains are to be evaluated.
