DEVICE FOR MAKING FACES OF OPTICAL COMPONENTS MEET EACH OTHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for making the optical axis of one optical component coincide with that of the other optical component by accurately bringing the contact faces of the both optical components into close contact with each other. SOLUTION: One optical component 10 is gripped by a clamp part 20 installed integrally with a pedestal 2 in order to lowering the other optical component 1 vertically to the one optical component 10 fixed to the pedestal 2 to bring the contacting faces of the both components into close contact with each other. The bottom surface of the pedestal 2 is formed in a convex spherical surface 2a shape to be housed in a concave spherical surface 3 formed on a base 3, and a linear motion mechanism 30 in which the base 30 goes up and down perpendicularly is fixed to a support 15 provided on the bottom face of the base 3. A perpendicular shaft 16 is provided under the support 15, the perpendicular shaft 16 is fitted into a split hole 19 having an opening/closing part 17 of an opened groove, and the opening/closing part 17 is closed by a signal that separately makes a command to fix the base 3 to a prescribed position. The extent of movement wide enough to accurately bring the contact faces of the both optical components into close contact with each other is given to the pedestal 2 and the base 3.
