摘要 <p>The mechanism clamps workpieces in order to carry out operations with them in different positions turned through 360 deg. or a multiple of them about an axis. The workpieces are clamped coaxially to the axes of rotation on the outer ends of a number of rotary mandrels (14), spaced along the periphery of a slewing table (13). The other ends of the mandrels have coupling members (17), engaging for at least part of the table periphery with one or more other coupling members (8, 8) fixed in relation to the vertical table axis. Thus as the table slews through a set angle, the coupled mandrels are correspondingly turned into the corresponding machining positions. All machining stations are accommodated within the 360 deg. through which the table slews, and the various machining positions of the workpieces on the mandrels are determined by locking devices (22) at the stations, actuated by a common pressure mechanism (23, 35), and engaging with complementary devices on the mandrels.</p>
