PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the positional versatility of a valve chest along the axial direction of a valve housing, to reduce the length of a moving core in the axial direction, to reduce the mass of the moving core, and to enhance the design versatility in a normally-closed solenoid valve in which a thin-walled cylindrical valve housing with a valve seat member fitted and fixed to one end side and a fixed core fixed to the other end in a liquid-tight manner is inserted in and fixed to a fitting hole formed in a base body, the valve chest is formed between the valve seat member and the valve housing, and the moving core facing the fixed core is housed in the valve housing. SOLUTION: An expanded part 22b is provided in a middle part in the axial direction of a valve housing 22, a cylindrical valve seat member 23 is fitted and fixed to one end side of the valve housing 22 by forming an annular chamber 45 communicated with a valve chest 25 between an inner surface of the expanded part 22b and itself, and a communication hole 32 to communicate the annular chamber 45 with the outside of the valve housing 22 is formed in the expanded part 22b.
