PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for setting-up and overlapping veneers, by which a two-ply veneer and one piece of veneer are arranged in a given number of sheet on a set-up conveyor, so that the veneer dried by a veneer drier becomes a desired veneer laminating number. SOLUTION: Respective motors for a bringing-in conveyor are provided with at least a rewinding controller which, when one bringing-in conveyor is driven, stops driving the other conveyor to synchronously drive control respective driving guide belts which rewind the two-ply veneer or the one piece of veneer to the respective bringing-in conveyors. At least the drive controller is interlocked with a veneer laminating number-of-sheets setter to determine the veneer laminating number according to the adjacent number of the one piece of veneer to be arranged until the two-ply veneer and the following two- ply veneer are supplied. An adhesive agent applying device for applying the adhesive agent on the upper surface and/or the lower surface of the veneer is provided adjacent to the bonding position on the extension of the conveying direction of the set-up conveyor.
