<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the direction of the optical axis of a light source unit used for a liquid crystal projector, etc., by using two axes crossing the optical axis of a lamp as the axes of rotation. <P>SOLUTION: When an eccentric cam 12 is rotated with a hexagonal wrench, etc., a nearly U-sectioned lamp fixation plate 7 rotates around the X axis while a guide pin 13 provided to the lamp fixation plate 7 is guided in a guide hole 9a for the guide pint to adjust the optical axis of the lamp 1 around the X axis. After the optical axis is adjusted in the X-axial direction, a fixing screw 11a which is already temporarily clamped is clamped for final fixation.
