摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display capable of inhibiting a deterioration in display quality even in the case of high integration of pixels. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display comprising a transparent substrate 28 above which a pixel is formed by sequentially laminating switching transistors Tr and capacitors Cs formed in a 2nd conductive type well 5 of a 1st conductive type semiconductor substrate 4, and pixel electrodes 71, 72 connected to the switching transistors Tr; the plurality of pixels are two- dimensionally formed in a matrix form; which has a specified gap on the pixel electrodes 71, 72; and which has a transparent common electrode 27 placed to face the pixel electrodes 71, 72 and cemented thereon, and comprising a liquid crystal layer 29 filled in the specified gap, a lower electrode 18 of the capacitors Cs is formed of a 1st conductive type layer diffused in the 2nd conductive well 5, and the 2nd conductive well 5 is provided with openings M so that the lower electrode 18 is in contact with the 1st conductive semiconductor substrate 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
