PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil injection type screw compressor which maintains an appropriate quantity of circulation oil in a gear mechanism of a screw rotor without requiring fine adjustment of the oil supply quantity to a rotor chamber, so that performance of the compressor is improved, and the generation of circulation failure is avoided. SOLUTION: This oil injection type screw compressor 1A is provided with a compressor main body 11 with a built-in screw rotor, an oil separating and recovering unit 15 interposed in a discharge flow passage 13, and an oil flow passage 19 for leading the oil from the oil separating and recovering unit 15 to an oil supply part inside of the compressor main body 11. This coil injection type screw compressor 1A is also provided with an opening/closing valve 18 interposed in the oil flow passage 19 and a control means 21 for periodically opening/closing the opening/closing valve 18 to periodically supply the oil from the oil flow passage 19 to the oil supply part to supply the optimal quantity of oil in the case of continuously supplying a means supply quantity of the oil, which is obtained by dividing the oil supply quantity to the compressor main body 11 during one cycle formed of the time TO when the opening/closing valve 18 is opened and the time TC when the opening/closing valve 18 is closed and longer than the time TO, to the compressor main body 11.
