PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damage inspection device for improving the reliability of inspection accuracy and easily setting the determination reference value for quality decision by suitably discriminating between the existence and absence of a failure including the internal failure of a subject. SOLUTION: This damage inspection device includes a sound generating means 2 for giving an impact to a product 1 to generate sound, a sound detecting means 4 for collecting sound generated by the sound generating means 2 and converting the same to an electric signal, an amplifier, a time series signal converting means 7 for converting the output of a sound detecting means output through an A/D converter 6 for converting the output of the amplifier 5 to a digital signal to a time series signal of each frequency, a computing means 8 for computing the decay rate of a time series signal output from the time series signal converting means 7, and a comparing means 10 for comparing the decay rate output from the computing means 8 with the decay rate of the determination reference value stored in a determination storing device 9 determine the quality of the product 1.
