PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a brake disk to a bogie frame. SOLUTION: This driving device 11 for a rolling stock is of a parallel Cardan type. An intermediate gear 12c is interposed between an input-side small gear 12a and an output-side large gear 12b of a gear device 12 to enlarge a main electric motor 1 and a distance A between it and an axle 2, and hence a brake disk 5 disposed coaxially with the main electric motor 1 is prevented from interfering with a wheel 4. Even a bogie having the parallel Cardan type driving device can largely reduce unsprung mass, improve running stability during high speed running, and reduce a bad effect such as track breakage.
