PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine with a thread cutter which accomplishes the working for checking the timing of a thread cutting cam very simply and in a shorter time with the oil pan and the bed fixed as it is. SOLUTION: In the checking for the operation timing of the thread cutting cam 9, an operation command signal generated from an electronic controller 4 is transmitted to an electromagnetic solenoid 12 to be actuated by the switching operations of changeover switches 5 and 50, the replacing operations of a connector 55a or others, causing a driven element 10 to engage a cam groove 9a of the thread cutting cam 9. Thus, by manually turning the thread cutting cam 9, the operation timing of the thread cutting cam 9 can be checked with the bed 28 and the oil pan connected as intact. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
