[Also in Division D1] A wire conveyer belt having cross-bars 12 connected by spirals of round or flat wire has the ends of the cross-bars bent at right angles or substantially so and provided with an edge member connecting the end to the bend of an adjacent cross-bar. The edge member may be constituted by a coiled wire 11 surrounding the end and hooked, as at 13, over the bend of the adjacent cross-bar, Fig. 1, or alternatively the edge member may comprise a sleeve 14 slipped over the end of the cross-bar and having portions 15 which clamp around the bend portion of an adjacent cross-bar, Fig. 2. |
