PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the transferring amount of results of execution of retrieval, and to perform high speed integrated retrieval of heterogeneous information sources. SOLUTION: Whether to execute each temporary retrieval command sentence at an information source side or not, the necessity of reevaluation at an integrated retrieving device side, and the switching of a limited quantum are determined by determining logical sign (AND/OR) connecting retrieving conditional clauses over the temporary retrieval command sentences, and the inclusive relationship of an element capable of being evaluated at the information source side and an element of the evaluation of the retrieval conditional clauses requested by the inquiry, in order to convert the inputted inquiry into the retrieval command sentence free from deficiency at the information source side. The determination is temporarily held, and the information on which the inquiry is not requested is deleted and integrated with the information on which the inquiry is requested, with respect to a result of execution of retrieval at each information source on the basis of the determination.
