PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating unit, and its operation method for reducing a running cost as a whole by improving energy efficiency of a compressor in a cooling unit for setting a cooling setting temperature low. SOLUTION: This refrigerating unit has a first cooling unit 60 having a first refrigerant circulating passage 65 provided with a first compressor 61, a first condensing heat exchanger 62, first orifice devices 63a and 63b, and first cooling object cooling heat exchangers 64a and 64b, and a second cooling unit 70 having a second refrigerant circulating passage provided with a second compressor 71, a second condensing heat exchanger 72, a second orifice device 73, and a second cooling object cooling heat exchanger 74, and setting a cooling temperature low. A second refrigerant is condensed by the second condensing heat exchanger by using cold heat of a first refrigerant expanded by the orifice device after being condensed by the first condensing heat exchanger.
