Non-contact tonometer for use with ophthalmic instrument, detects alignment status of ophthalmic instrument with respect to patient's eye, based on which alignment clues are displayed on heads-up display

The quad-cell detectors (42A,42B) detects the X-Y-Z alignment status of the ophthalmic instrument with respect to the patient's eye. A heads-up display (24) displays the alignment clues based on the detected result. A eye lens is positioned along the optical axis (14) for imaging both the display and the eye at infinity for viewing the edges in relaxed manner. An Independent claim is also included for display system.
