<p>Pulp for making paper is tailor-made according to the needs of the customer by using a timber sorting method that takes into account the type of tree, where it was grown, the width of the age rings and the height above sea level it was grown at. - A method for calculating the variables used for sorting timber comprises determining the variables for an individual log or a large batch of timber as a regression expression specific to a type of tree and region of a country. This expression includes a mean value for the age ring width, and a mean value for the height above sea level at the felling site for a batch of timber, both measured via the timber weight per volume. An independent claim is also included for a timber sorting method which is carried out according to a calculated mean value for a variable in an individual log or large batch of timber, in order to be able to influence paper properties and/or paper production parameters.</p> |
