PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lead for pets capable of reducing a production cost, because a lock mechanism carrying out only pushing operation can be produced separately from an apparatus body and capable of readily carrying out operation because of easy feeding-out of a pulling cord and having convenience when a person takes the dog for a walk. SOLUTION: The lead for pets is equipped with an apparatus body, a reel rotatably held on the apparatus body, a tethering cord body wound so as to enable feeding out to the reel and a lock mechanism releasably controlling rotation of the reel, and a gripping part is provided in the apparatus body and an operating part of the lock mechanism is attached to the apparatus body in the vicinity of the end of the gripping part. In the lead for pets, the lock mechanism is equipped with a unit case separate from the apparatus body and the unit case is detachably attached to the apparatus body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
