PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device, which a care-giver operates easily while doing care works or the like, and the waterproofness and shockproofness of which are improved. SOLUTION: In the switch device: an end flange 1b of an elastic cap 1 which is made of elastic material in the shape of a cap, and has a dilation on the periphery and a recess on the center, is airtightly sandwiched between a flange 3a of a case 3 and a protrusion 4a of a back lid 4; and a protrusion 1a formed on the inner side of the center of the elastic cap 1 is fitted to a hole 2a of a switch holder 2 supporting a switch 5. The switch holder 2 is bonded on a printed board 6, a battery holder 7 supporting a button battery 9 is mounted on the printed board 6, a lower end flange 11a of a dock ring 11 is fitted to the back lid 4 inside the elastic cap 1, and an operation part 5a of the switch 5 is pressed to the dock ring 11 by shear deformation of the elastic cap 1, to actuate the switch 5.
